My Lense Captures My Life...
Hi, I’m Malachi Gilmour, the young entrepreneur behind Torched Views. My journey in photography began in 2022 during a family holiday in Spain. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and with the support of the BiG Challenge Enterprise Competition in Sheffield, it evolved into a thriving business.
Since I started Torched Views, I’ve won multiple awards, including the Creativity and Overall Winner awards in the 2022-2023 BiG Challenge, and the Biggest Profit award in 2023-2024.
My journey continues, and I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and capturing the beauty of Sheffield and beyond through my lens.
My Journey So Far - Sheffield to Spain and back!
It´s been quite a journey to date, and all while I study because in case you hadn´t guessed, I am still at School. But don´t let that discredit me, in fact some of the most successful entrepreneurs have started their journey young!
Since 2022 I have photographed the highlights of Sheffield, wider Yorkshire, Spain and further afield. I see the world through my lens and my creative flare has already seen me win the Big Challenge twice, gain recognition from Sheffield City Council and selling my photos has helped me support local charity, Ben´s Centre Sheffield – a very worthwhile cause helping some of the most vulnerable in society.
My Careers Advisor, Adele Hetherington was quoted as saying “I’ve been so impressed with how Mal has grown in confidence taking part in the challenge, and how he has run with it entirely off his own back this year, adapting the business and applying what he has learnt”. Praise indeed!
